How to Improve Your SEO Ranking on Google

How to Improve Your SEO Ranking on Google

So you want to be on the top page of Google Search results for your industry?

I often get clients who want a website designed or redesigned to appear on the first page of Google in their industry just by getting a professionally designed website.

I teach them that there is a lot more to it!

You may have heard that SEO ranking is determined by:

  • which platform your website is built on,
  • what keywords are used,
  • how often your content is updated,
  • how your content is presented,
  • how many words are on a page,
  • your competition…and the list can go on and on.

What Is SEO?

SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimization.’ It’s the practice of optimizing your web pages to make them reach a high position in the search results of Google or other search engines. SEO focuses on improving the rankings in the organic – aka non-paid – search results. – Yoast SEO

In simpler terms, Search Engine Optimization is how you rank among your competition/industry when someone does a Google search for terms closely related to your business.

How can SEO help me?

SEO can ultimately be your only client referral tool if you’d want it to be. Among the thousands and millions who are online each day – SEO allows customers to find you without you having to do much.

SEO can help you bring in clients who are ideal for what you are looking for on each page or post on your website. This is typically regardless of your industry too!

Imagine how many people are on Google everyday searching for your specific service. Wouldn’t it be great to appear first?

What are SEO keywords?

A keyword is a word or sometimes phrase that describes what the respective page is about. It’s the term that is searched frequently that you want to use to pull in visitors to your site. When this keyword is used in a search,

Google uses keywords on websites to give you the most relatable content In your search.

That last sentence is why keywords are so important to growing your SEO.
